Care software everyone can use.

Care is delivered by people with a wide range of abilities, on a wide range of devices, often at speed. We want every carer, nurse, manager, relative and administrator to be able to use FlexiEle regardless of how they access it — whether with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or on a small screen at the bedside.

We measure our work against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA, the recognised UK standard, and treat accessibility as an ongoing part of how we build, not a one-off exercise.

• Semantic, structured HTML with a logical heading order, so screen readers can navigate the content.
• Full keyboard operability — interactive elements can be reached and used without a mouse.
• A clear, high-contrast focus indicator on every focusable element, so keyboard users can always see where they are.
• Colour choices in our warm palette are checked for text-contrast against the WCAG AA thresholds.
• Text can be resized up to 200% and the layout reflows on small screens without loss of content.
• Meaningful alternative text for informative images, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
• Form fields have associated labels and clear, text-based error messages.
• Links and buttons are written to make sense out of context.

The same standard guides the FlexiEle application itself. Point-of-care journeys are designed to be fast and low-friction (for example, two-tap daily-note tagging), with large touch targets, clear labelling and role-appropriate views. If your team has a specific accessibility requirement for the platform — for instance a particular screen reader or an adjustment for a colleague — please tell us and we will work with you.

Despite our efforts, some limitations may remain. We are aware of, and working on:

• Some richer interactive components and motion effects may not yet fully meet every AA criterion on all assistive technologies.
• Older or third-party embedded content may not always match the accessibility of the surrounding pages.
• Documents provided for download may not all be fully tagged for accessibility yet.
